The team at Mascol Events are really pleased to see the new Website launched finally! Its great to see it live online after many months of intermittent copy writing, picture taking and video editing as well as endless to-ing and fro-ing with the very patient Jonny at Cleverink who designed and built the website whilst we were beavering away doing our day to day work in a very busy second half of 2014.
2014 August to December Review
The last 6 months of 2014 saw us working flat out on some great audio visual projects for both new and longstanding clients.
August is a traditionally quiet month in the Conference industry so we were pleased to fill our time with getting out and about in the countryside of the South East of England doing lots of filming for the excellent Food & Drink Awards for each of the County Magazines published by Archant Life: Essex Life, Sussex Life, Surrey Life and Kent Life. We are pleased to work with an ever growing number of county magazines to produce the videos for their award category nominees. We also supplied and operated the audio visual equipment to run the awards shows for each county. Each event a glitzy blacktie celebration for which we provided Tri-coloured LED star cloth, stage and lecterns, projectors and screens, lighting, PA system and microphones, together with the equipment to playback and mix powerpoint and the videos seamlessly for a smooth awards ceremony enjoyed by all attendees.
Apart from the obvious places such as Pubs, Restaurants, Cafes, Farmers Markets etc we found ourselves in a Meerkat enclosure at Drusillas Zoo, in a field of rare breed Cattle, in a piggery, various fields of produce and in the midst of hungry birds on a Turkey Farm!
The Awards Ceremonies took place throughout September and October when we also undertook a variety of audio visual events including the HAUC UK annual conference at the Brighton Centre, Cricket Benefit events, South & South East in Bloom Awards event at the Amex Stadium, a European Property Convention in London at the Landmark Hotel, a charity fundraising event for St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing, not to mention the usual variety of small meetings and training courses we supplied audio visual equipment and technicians for as well as pure Dry Hire of audio visual equipment.
November was our peak month for the year and we were delighted to work with several regular clients on their annual events again. Highlights included the week long Media Business Course run by the Advertising Association for the last 50 years and held at The Grand Brighton. See the image slider below which demonstrates very effectively our Pulsar LED up lighters in action changing the colour of the set throughout the day to coordinate with the presenters needs.
Another highlight was the annual Investment Property Databank (IPD) Conference also held at the Grand Brighton – this event features our largest Set rig of the year (the time lapse video showing the full audio visual set up is on our homepage). We build a large set and hang a substantial truss in the ceiling to hold projectors, lighting and speakers. A raised control desk is built opposite the main stage to manage the audio visual needs and ideally position the main live camera. The event schedule includes many key note speeches, followup speeches, panel sessions and Q&A with interactive voting and live twitter feeds as well.
November finished off with two events in London for World Media Online – the Smartgrid Conference and The Internet of Things Conference – the two events running concurrently but at different London Hotels. Both events required a full audio visual set up but Mascol Events also supplied the stills cameraman for publicity shots as well as video recording the whole 2 day conference and an interview with each presenter following their presentation for later publishing on Youtube.
December finished off another successful year for Mascol Events with a selection of audio visual events including, 2 Conferences, 8 small Meetings, 5 Christmas Parties, a car Launch event and an Awards ceremony. We were delighted when Christmas came around to give the whole team a well deserved rest and an opportunity to recharge our batteries for the start of 2015.
